AIM Academy is excited to announce the opening of a Middle & Upper School Media Arts teaching position for the fall of 2018. AIM’s Upper & Middle Schools are innovative and collaborative environments where teachers have smaller than usual caseloads so they can focus on the individual needs of students. Teaching faculty in the Middle & Upper School enjoy a good deal of autonomy in the material they teach as well as very well-developed support structures to employ key research based practices for students with language-based learning differences.
AIM’s Visual & Performing Arts team is comprised of seven faculty who focus on Art & Design, Media Arts, Music, Instrumental, and Theater. This position will largely focus on Media Arts and the production of photography (digital), film, video, animation, and game and web design. The department is supported by a team of instructional leaders, speech language pathologists, and very knowledgeable administrators. An ideal candidate will have experience teaching Media Arts to creative students and will understand how to marry explicit instruction without interfering with the autonomous process that benefits the Arts. This candidate will be flexible and willing to adapt plans to fit the needs of bright students who learn differently. Candidate will support musicals, plays, productions and ceremonies with sound, lighting, and video as needed. Our faculty is comfortable designing and implementing curriculum based upon student interest in a studio-based/individualized approach. Faculty develop interactive lessons and projects to engage students with various learning profiles. AIM’s Institute for Learning & Research will provide a myriad of opportunities for professional development prior to the opening of the school year.
Interested candidates should send a cover letter and resume to our Human Resources Director Lori Chase at Lchase@aimpa.org
