Job Description and Essential Duties
1.0 Full-Time Religious Studies Teacher
As a Catholic institution and ministry of the Catholic Church, employees are expected to be engaged and support the faith formation mission component of the school, as well as respect the formation of those beliefs with our students.
Provide an academically rigorous curriculum that aligns with the Religious Studies department curriculum/ content maps, and the Common Core Standards, and student individual education plans.
Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
Possess the ability to differentiate instruction to students with accommodations and or modifications according to individual education plans.
Plan and facilitate hands on/ project based learning to support and enhance classroom curriculum;
Maintain accurate student grades, records and/or portfolios.
Provide input and support grade level teams, and subject matter as it pertains to monitoring student progress using formative and summative assessments.
Collaborate with Instructional Coach, Counselor and Department members to; prepare lesson plans, outlines and/or syllabi;
Participate in professional learning teams and school-wide professional development initiatives.
Build and maintain positive relationships with students and staff. Communicate effectively and consistently with parents and colleagues.
Cultivate and support parent and family involvement in school curriculum and school life.
Possess ability to integrate technology into delivering of classroom instruction

Possess a passion for working with young people and a desire to engage them in critical thinking, inquiry and analysis
Possess an ability to leverage technological tools for learning and support student skill development as 21st century learners
Contribute to the larger school community through occasional prefecting duties or participation in student life activities.

Hold Oregon Teaching Certificate(s)
Education and Experience
MUST BE A PRACTICING CATHOLIC
Formal theology training required
Preferred Masters in Education/Theology
Experience teaching all levels of high school Religious Studies
