Waldorf School of Lexington (WSL) seeks an Afterschool teacher for the 2018–19 school year. The Afterschool Teacher works with an assistant to create a home-like environment for nursery and/or kindergarten students from 12:30–3:00 p.m., and for nursery through grade 6 students from 3:00–5:00.
This is a part-time, hourly, non-benefitted position, pay scale $18–$25 per hour depending upon experience. The Aftercare Teacher works five days a week from 11:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. throughout the school year. The Afterschool Teacher works with and reports to the Afterschool Program Director.
Experience with Waldorf education; Waldorf training is a plus
Teaching experience with groups of children between the ages of 3–6
Confident classroom presence, with strong social and communication skills
The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and parents
The ability to work successfully with an assistant
