Teacher Assistant, Children's Learning Center | HCC Jobs
The Teacher Assistant is responsible for the care and education of a group of children as part of a teaching team and will assist the Lead Teacher in performing the duties necessary to implement the early childhood program.
This is a part-time position for 27.5 hours per week.

Education and experience - Minimum of twelve semester hours in child development and activities for early childhood, or holds the Child Development Associate credential for preschool teachers (CDA); minimum of 1 year experience working with children in a structured early childhood program; or a combination of experience and college that are equivalent to 1 year. Thorough knowledge of child development, developmentally appropriate curriculum and positive guidance techniques. Must meet and maintain all qualifications as specified for Preschool teachers by MSDE Office of Child Care.
Skills and abilities - Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, children and parents; demonstrates effective and appropriate classroom management and positive guidance techniques, ability to effectively hear, observe and respond to children's needs, emergencies and/or conflicts; willingness and ability to complete additional training as required.
