Milton Academy, established in 1798, is an independent coeducational national boarding and day school, serving 1,000 students in grades K-12 on a 125 acre campus eight miles south of Boston.
Milton Academy seeks an administrative assistant and substitute teacher for the Lower School. The administrative assistant will provide a welcoming environment and general assistance to students, faculty, and staff. The administrative assistant will also provide administrative support for the Lower School Principal and general support for the faculty and staff working in the Greenleaf Building. Typical responsibilities include greeting guests, answering the telephone, responding to email inquiries, coordinating and implementing mailings, copying, filing, and scheduling meetings and activities. The administrative coordinator will also serve as the substitute teacher for the Lower School.
Successful candidates will possess the ability to be flexible and work collaboratively as a part of a team while prioritizing multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced work environment. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience and comfort with technology and understand issues of confidentiality. Qualified candidates will possess at least two years of administrative experience with at least one year of that experience in a school setting. Teaching experience is preferred and a teaching certificate is not required.
