Overview. The Chason Group, Inc. has been selected to conduct an executive search for a President and Chief Executive Officer for the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, located in the metro Atlanta area. Tim Chason and Randy Cardoza are coordinating the search.
About the Fayette County Chamber. Founded in 1967, the Fayette Chamber of Commerce is the leading business organization in Fayette County, Georgia, creating a vibrant business climate and building a premiere community. The mission of the Chamber is to promote business and enhance economic and community development through leadership, service and advocacy for Fayette County. Representing more than 700 member businesses and organizations, the Chamber serves as a resource and brings together leadership from all areas — business, government, nonprofits, education, support services, public safety, arts and entertainment. The Chamber has an annual budget of $700,000 and five full-time professional staff members who report to the President/CEO.
The Community. Based on 2015 US Census data, Fayette County has a population of 110,714. The report also indicates over 3,400 businesses operate in the county. Fayetteville serves as the county seat. Other incorporated areas include Peachtree City, Tyrone, Brooks and Woolsey. The county is conveniently located appropriately 20 miles southwest of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and in close proximity to Interstates 75, 85, 20, and 285.
Position Responsibilities. The President and CEO is assigned to provide executive leadership to the Chamber. The professional reports to the Board of Directors through an elected Chair. Financial management, human resources development, and strategic planning and implementation are the key responsibilities. The executive will also be accountable for developing an organizational culture that exudes collaboration and partnerships for the global success of the Chamber as well as serve as the key resource in relating policies, strategies and various courses of action to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors, professional team and public to achieve the Chamber’s goals.
Qualifications. The qualifications for the President’s position include: Bachelor’s degree, ideally with other post graduate work, from an accredited college in the area(s) of public relations, business, and/or marketing; a minimum of ten years of executive management leadership experience in the business, chamber of commerce, economic development and/or community development field(s). The executive will be required to live in Fayette County.
