The Assistant Director plans, coordinates, and promotes a broad spectrum of co-curricular activities and programs that will cultivate vibrant activities social life on campus and help nurture student leadership development As the advisor of the NHS, the Student Council Director promotes the ideals of scholarship, leadership, service, and character through the chapter activities. Duties include scheduling events and facilities, and moderating Student Council and the National Honor society.
In addition to the following duties, as a full-time employee, the Assistant Director may teach two classes in the history or foreign language departments, as experience dictates.
Clubs: Oversees all club and organization activities
Organizes and publicizes Club Rush
Meets with moderators and Officers on a regular basis to discuss the use of school facilities for all club related activities
Approves all activities and fundraising
Maintains a calendar and schedule for meetings and fundraisers
Determines the active status of clubs/organizations by evaluating club activity and enrollment annually
Manages all financial aspects of clubs
ASB: Moderates all Student Council Activities
Presides over all Student Council meetings Manages all financial aspects of Student Council
Directs Student Council elections
Maintains accurate records for grading
Organizes the annual Leadership Camp
Oversees the senior class locker room decorating project and the assigning and painting of senior parking spaces
Organizes the annual Leadership Conference and Koala Bowl in consultation with the admissions office for Grades 6-8
Organizes all fundraising activities
Oversees the planning and execution of pep rallies, Human Development Assemblies and weekly assemblies
Organizes the seating arrangements for all weekly and special assemblies and Mass
Keeps bulletin boards current
Tri-School Activities: Coordinates and participates in Tri-School student activities (e.g. Homecoming, Prom etc.)
Works with the Senior Grade Level Coordinator and parent representatives from Connelly, Rosary and Servite for Tri-School Grad Night and checks in Connelly students at the event.
Organizes tryouts with the coach
Assists the coaches in the ordering of uniforms
Schedules parent meetings
Schedules the summer camp with the coach
Monitors summer and regular schedules for practices and games
Oversees fundraising activities, if needed
Assists the coaches in addressing all student and parent concerns
Oversees the organization of the annual Cheer Clinic, if calendared.
NHS: Moderates all National Honor Society Activities
Presides over all National Honor Society Meetings
Organizes the annual Leadership Conference and Koala Bowl in consultation with the admissions office for Grades 6-8 in collaboration with ASB Associate.
Sets up the tutoring schedule with National Honor Society members
In spring prepares the application process and induction of new members
Plans the NHS induction ceremony
Yearbook Moderator: This position is responsible for instructing and coordinating the annual school yearbook with a variety of students in a classroom and other settings.
Attends and coordinates the yearbook camp in August.
Follows and maintains knowledge of all school policy(ies) and procedures.
Coordinates annual publication of the yearbook.
Completes required paperwork in specified time and manner.
Manages behaviors of students.
Utilizes online graphics software for editing and organizing photographs.
Abides by all copyright policies and laws.
Manages students to make sure all publication deadlines are met.
Accountable to the Dean of Students
BA in related field. Experience in school setting working with students.
