Cambridge Friends School is seeking a full-time Science and Math teacher beginning in the fall of 2018. The successful candidate will join a team of innovative teachers and students. The successful candidate will build upon and develop new experiences and curricula. This individual will teach one section each of sixth-grade science, seventh-grade science, eighth-grade science and sixth grade math in small classes in a multi-cultural setting. This individual will be able to create and incorporate experiences for all students that challenge, engage, stretch, and open students’ minds to the wonder, beauty, and application of science and math. Candidates should have a desire to weave social justice issues throughout the curriculum, as well as integrate science and math into other curricular areas. Candidates must also be able to work as part of a professional learning community and have strong classroom management skills. In addition, all candidates must have a keen understanding of middle school students and middle school philosophy, as well as a love of children and a passionate commitment to science and math.

Bachelor’s Degree, Masters preferred, in science education or in one or more of STEM fields
A minimum of two years teaching experience, preferably at the middle school level
Demonstrated classroom management skills
Experience developing hands-on, project and problem-based curricula
Experience with educational technology
Proven ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with a diverse team of teachers
Eager to embrace and forward the Quaker mission of the School
