We are looking for a Part Time Special Education Judaic Studies Teacher for the 5th Grade for the 2018 – 2019 school year at our Brooklyn school.
In a classroom environment Teachers will plan and supervise a warm, nurturing developmentally appropriate environment for the development of the whole child while practicing Magen David Yeshivah’s high level of care and educational standards.
Special Education Teachers will be part of Magen David Yeshivah’s Chehebar Academy which serves the educational needs of children with learning disabilities. Teachers will offer programs for students in Grades 1-8 with average to above average intelligence who have language-based learning disabilities and who perform optimally in a self-contained classroom. Focus will be on teaching Judaic History and Hebrew Language.
Employ a variety of methodologies and strategies to address a range of learning styles and needs.
Work with students and families in order to help them realize their true potential offering instruction in areas of auditory processing, expressive language, receptive language, reading, working memory, attention, and executive functioning.
Evaluate each student’s growth in knowledge and skills in the course being taught
Cultivate core Jewish values such as kindness, respect, compassion and integrity within students
Participates in various student and parent activities which occur in school including PTA and student clubs.

Judaic Studies Teachers should be fluent in Hebrew, and feel comfortable teaching in an Ivrit b’Ivrit school.
Masters Degree in Special Education or similar field.
License or Certification in Special Education or similar field.
1-2 years teaching experience preferred.
