The Early Childhood Co-Teacher position is for an education professional eager to participate in the development of a growing Reggio-Emilia inspired academic program and help create and support a unique school culture. Bennett Day School teachers understand that the craft of teaching is dynamic; they adapt to and integrate this belief in their daily work in the classroom and school community. The Early Childhood Co-Teacher will work in collaboration with their co-teacher and grade level team, as well as the specialist teachers, to integrate rich, developmentally appropriate programming in the classroom.

Program and curriculum development experience; inquiry-based and/or project-based learning preferred
Deep engagement in pedagogical trends, research, and best practices
Experience/professional development in/with special education
Experience with technology as a tool for teaching and learning
3+ years experience as early childhood lead or co-teacher; Experience in progressive education preferred
Education Background: a Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree in education preferred
Collaboration and communication with Co-Lead Teacher
Collaborative grade-level curriculum development
Individual student documentation and evaluation
Family communication: home visits, four conferences, family open house, weekly newsletters/blogging
Professional Development: Monday afternoon faculty meetings and Wednesday afternoon, ongoing professional development in and out of school
Collaboration, communication, and integration with Specialist teachers (Art, Music, TESLab, Spanish, PE)
Participation in self-evaluation and reflection process; individual and team meetings with the Principal and Assistant Principal
Participation in three family/community evening/weekend events
Hours: 7:30a-4:00p T/TH/F; 7:30a-5:00p M/W (Faculty meetings and Professional Development)
Responsibilities are not all-inclusive and will include other duties as assigned
Attend summer and school year PD, including New Faculty Orientation August 9-10, Faculty PD Aug 13-24, end of year PD dates, and on and off campus PD.
