Francis Parker School is seeking a long-term substitute upper school science teacher for the fall of 2018 to teach two sections of Advanced Chemistry and three sections of Advanced Placement Chemistry. The start date is August 27, 2018, and the end date is December 20, 2018.
Daily responsibilities include teaching five sections of upper school science as the primary instructor (please see above).
In addition to the duties listed above, Francis Parker School expects the following of each employee: adheres to Francis Parker policies and procedures; works in a safe manner; performs duties as workload necessitates; maintains a positive and respectful attitude; communicates regularly with supervisor about department issues; demonstrates efficient time management and prioritizes workload; demonstrates regular and consistent attendance and punctuality; meets department productivity standards; participates in Parker events as needed or required; and completes other duties as assigned. Additionally, this position includes the presentation of curriculum, the collection and grading of homework, the appropriate documentation of assessments, all grading responsibilities and the communications associated with those responsibilities.
A love of children, a passionate commitment to rigorous and supportive instruction, and a desire to work with all types of learners is a must. Training in science instruction and/or a teaching certificate is a plus.
At a minimum, candidates will have a relevant degree in science or related field with 3-5 years of experience teaching at the secondary school level or above.
Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and outstanding communication skills are a must.
Salary and Benefits:
The long-term sub rate is $225 per day. This position is not eligible for benefits.
