St. Paul’s School announces a search for the position of Teacher of French to begin duties in August 2019. The Language Department requires students to not only master the mechanics of another language but also to immerse themselves in the arts, traditions, and customs of those who speak it. Under the direction of the faculty – and aided by the multimedia Language Center – students come to understand different ways of thinking and living. The result is a consciousness that is truly global. Extensive offerings are provided in five modern languages – Chinese, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish – and in Latin and Greek, taught for beginners through a multitude of courses for advanced students.
The primary responsibility will be to teach classes of introductory and more advanced levels of French at the secondary level. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment working with other French teachers, with the faculty of the languages department, and with the broader faculty in advancing the mission of the School and the commitment to teaching and learning in a holistic educational environment. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching French language and culture and have an understanding of boarding school life.
In addition to teaching or administrative responsibilities, faculty at St. Paul’s School are responsible for a variety of activities typical to the boarding school environment, including advising, dormitory association, coaching, committee work and other duties. St. Paul’s School is a completely residential, co-educational secondary school in Concord, NH, affiliated with the Episcopal Church and welcoming to all faiths.
St. Paul’s aggressively seeks applications from candidates who will promote the School’s commitment to attracting and retaining a highly talented and diverse faculty. A successful candidate will embrace the fully residential living experience and have a demonstrated gift for engaging a diverse student body and strengthening St. Paul’s inclusive community.

About St. Paul's School
St. Paul’s School is a co-educational, fully residential high school founded in 1856. We are an Episcopal school, welcoming of all faiths, made up of approximately 525 students from all over the world. We are a community of students and teachers and families, who live and learn together. We try to live by our School Prayer, which urges kindness and an eagerness to “bear the burdens of others.” St. Paul’s is academically rigorous, but staffed with teachers who take the time to know the whole student, whether in the classroom, in the dormitory, on the athletic fields, or along one of the many paths that wind through the campus. Because high school is such a formative time, most alumni tell us that they made their most enduring friendships at St. Paul’s.All students and all faculty live on campus, so there is never a shortage of peers to study with or hang around with in the dorms, or adults to provide guidance and support away from home.
