Carolina Day School seeks an innovative, dynamic, and compassionate academic leader for our Upper School division of approximately 220 students and 25 faculty members. The position will officially begin July 1, 2019.
Carolina Day School is a Pre-K/12 secular, independent school in Asheville, North Carolina. CDS enrolls approximately 660 students across four divisions: Lower School (PreK-5), Middle School (6-8), Upper School (9-12), and Key School (for students with language-based learning differences in grades 2-8).

Carolina Day Upper School is known for its strong, innovative college preparatory program and unique culture of learning. Relationships between and among students and faculty have been the heart of the school’s success since its inception. The school is in an exciting era of strategic growth as we continue to strengthen both our pedagogy and facilities. Carolina Day recently became a member of the Mastery Transcript Consortium and seeks a principal who is passionately invested in helping develop our culture of thinking by implementing a deep learning model of education. Carolina Day is in the process of designing new and innovative learning spaces that will enhance and support programs in the Upper School.

The Upper School principal works in partnership with the administration to develop and align strategic goals and vision for the future, as per the school’s mission and nine core beliefs.
