The Assistant Superintendent serves as the overseer of curriculum and instruction, acts as an instructional leader of the District, and ensures accountability through the use of assessment data. (S)he ensures the District/school educational objectives are aligned to state frameworks, to the Local Control and Accountability Plan, and to instructional practices that yield the highest standards of student achievement, instructional excellence, and community support in all subject areas. The Assistant Superintendent will assist in all phases of the LCAP development, as well as direct the continued work in the areas of assessment development, report cards, English Language development, vertical articulation and technology integration into the classroom. The Assistant Superintendent assists the Superintendent in all matters as defined by the Superintendent.
Evaluates personnel under immediate supervision; conducts surveys when needed.
* Valid California Teaching Credential and Valid California Administrator Services Credential (or Certificate of Eligibility for Administrative Services Credential)
* Valid California driver's license.
* Three (3) years of successful teaching or related experience.
* Five (5) years of experience in an administrative capacity having demonstrated success in performing increasingly responsible management functions in educational administration, which includes elementary or secondary principal experience.
