Child Care Resource and Referral is seeking to fill an immediate position for a full-time Early Childhood Teacher. We are seeking a vibrant, self-starter, energetic individual to provide educational leadership teaching preschool-aged children in the assigned child care facilities using developmentally appropriate curriculum as aligned with the Illinois State Board of Education Early Learning Development Standards and the Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Plan and coordinate lesson plans/activities using the Creative Curriculum as cooperatively agreed upon with the co-teacher/early childhood educator.
Support literacy program by sending home books with children weekly and include literacy support form Creative Curriculum throughout lesson planning and in the classroom.
Lead or participate in small or large group activities that support the development of children's language, self-help skills, social cooperation and development of positive self-concepts as cooperatively agreed upon with the co-teacher/early childhood educator.
Observe, document, assess and plan for the individual needs of children using the Teaching Strategies Gold Assessment tool as cooperatively agreed upon with the co-teacher/early childhood educator.
Compile children's portfolios and draft individualized developmental plans as cooperatively agreed upon with the co-teacher/early childhood educator.
Participate in developmental screening of children and with transition into kindergarten.
Type 04 Early Childhood Teacher Certification of an ECE Credential Level 5 awarded by the Department of Human Services under the Gateways to Opportunity Program or an Educator License with Stipulations with a transitional bilingual educator endorsement and has passed an early childhood education content test or completed no less than 9 semester hours of post-secondary coursework in the area of early childhood education.
Early Childhood teaching experience
Must have strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with individuals from various educational, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds
Bilingual abilities a plus
Must have automobile with valid driver's license and proof of insurance
Able to be self-motivated
Hours Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
