Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center (PSBHC) is an intensive inpatient mental/behavioral health program for males and females, ages 5 â€" 17 years old.Â We offer a highly structured supportive and safe environment for children and adolescents who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, family, and social challenges.Â Â The Hospital/Homebound school within the facility contracts with the Manatee County school district to provide a small classroom educational environment to residential patients. A 4:1 student to staff ratio is maintained throughout the school day for behavior support in the classroom with additional support from on-site psychiatrists, a board certified behavior analyst, therapists and a full medical team. We follow required state and county rules and regulations for a Hospital/Homebound site.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE/ WORK ENVIRONMENT Seeking a SecondaryÂ Teacher certified in English and/or Reading.Â Will consider any 6-12 content certification area with English/ReadingÂ instruction experienceÂ to work out of field.Â Â The teacher will use their knowledge of student development to be flexible and responsive to student learning by adjusting lessons, responding to student individual needs, and persisting in providing a variety of approaches when students have required instructional support. Knowledge of ESE development, strategies and process required as an IEP is developed for all students while in the Hospital/Homebound setting based on their individual educational needs.Â
