Morgan Park Academy is currently accepting applications for an experienced, innovative full time English teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. Qualified candidates will have 3 or more years of experience teaching English, AP English, speech and debate, or English at the Upper school levels. The candidate must work with other members of the staff in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to standards; must present a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school; must create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development of students; must maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
Bachelor's degree and certification; Master's degree in education preferred •Minimum 3-5 years effective classroom teaching in English, speech and debate or teaching English and social studies courses at the Middle and Upper school levels
Instruct and assess students in a supportive manner that addresses multiple learning styles •Integrate technology into the classroom •Communicate student progress to parents and students • Participate in professional development opportunities •Serve as an advisor to students •Develop and lead co-curricular activities for students
A full time faculty member is a teacher who has signed a regular contract for one academic year of employment with Morgan Park Academy. The academic year commences the week prior to Labor Day and concludes one week after school
