Job Description Summary
Applications are invited for a Teacher-Scholar Postdoctoral Fellow in Biophysics in the Department of Physics at Wake Forest University beginning July 1, 2018. We seek highly qualified candidates who have a commitment to excellence in both teaching and research. The position entails teaching undergraduate classes and mentoring undergraduate research in the Department of Physics; and conducting collaborative research with department faculty. Primary consideration will be given to candidates whose biophysics research interests overlap with two faculty members – Keith Bonin and Martin Guthold. These areas include optical and atomic force microscopy, next generation sequencing, cell-culturing, and electrospinning fibers. A Ph.D. in Physics or a related area is required.
The department has fifteen tenure-track faculty, one teaching professional, and six postdoctoral researchers. The department offers both a B.A. and a B.S. in Physics, and a B.S. in Biophysics. The department has a graduate program offering M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Physics.
