Responsible for the management of the aquatic programs and facilities, including the marketing of the aquatic programs and supervision of aquatics personnel. This requires primary oversight of the programming standards, systems and practices as they directly impact the overall guest experience.
Coordinates, implements, delivers, markets and sells all aquatic programs and services. Ensures proper systems are implemented to guarantee that the facility programs meet the needs of the guests and drives participation in such a manner as to create guest delight. Assists in the delivery of division services as required, including providing specific services as qualified to do so by training (training checklists, in-service for lifeguards, instructing a class, facilitating program activities, etc.). Responsible for oversight and operation of the Town Square Ice Rink during its seasonal operation period. Plan, monitor, analyze, and effectively administer expenditure and revenue budgets. Identify, document and recommend capital improvement and maintenance needs. Develop, administer and monitor procedures and practices for safe pool maintenance and operations including the use of specialized equipment such as chemical controllers, chemical feeders, vacuum machines, interactive toys and water slides, and water filtration equipment. Effectively manage personnel in a manner that reinforces the City's Core Values and philosophies through open communication, training, coaching, counseling, and evaluating personnel in compliance with city policies, to include lifeguards, swim instructors, program and class instructors, facility rentals and all other activities related to employees. Ensure all aquatic facilities are always clean, orderly and safe in compliance with city and public health standards and meets guests' expectations.
Considerable knowledge of the operation of swimming pools including sanitation, maintenance, and safety. Knowledge of water park financial operations and recordkeeping of recreational facilities. Thorough knowledge of emergency services and auxiliary services available in the community in the event of an accident. Ability to instruct, assign, supervise and evaluate personnel in the performance of their duties. Ability to work harmoniously with pool staff, patrons, and the public while firmly enforcing facility regulations. Ability to work with budgets and to learn procedures necessary to undertake and implement appropriate financial procedures.
Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation Administration, business, marketing, tourism, hospitality or a related field OR equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Three (3) years of progressive management experience at a water park.
