Advertised Employing Department: School of Education Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: The School of Education (SOE) at Iowa State University invites applications for a nine-month appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor, non-tenure track, in Educational Leadership and Multicultural/Social Justice Education with a start date of August 16, 2018. The position carries a three course per semester teaching load. Specifically, we are looking for a faculty colleague to (a) teach graduate-level courses in our P-12 school leadership program that leads to recommendation for principal certification in the State of Iowa, (b) teach undergraduate courses in Multicultural/Social Justice Education in our elementary and secondary teacher education programs, (c ) potentially teach courses in our graduate certificate in Education for Social Justice, and (d) participate in the life of the School of Education, including program-level meetings, as appropriate. Required Education and Experience: An earned doctorate in Educational Leadership or a closely related field by the start date of August 16, 2018. Preferred Education and Experience: Three or more years of experience as a school-level leader (e.g. principal).
