University Liggett School, a PreK-12th grade independent school of 600 students, seeks an Associate Director of Admissions with primary responsibility for Upper School admissions. This is a full-time, 12-month position, reporting to the Director of Enrollment Management and a member of the External Relations Team. The position begins on January 1, 2019.
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education, marketing, communications, or related field.
Three or more years of independent School admissions experience.
Experience in marketing and communications, financial aid management, and international student recruitment.
An understanding of the the benefits of an independent school education and the ability to articulate Liggett’s vision, mission, and extraordinary educational experience in a compelling way.
A passion for working with students and families in an educational setting.
The ability to interpret testing, evaluations, teacher recommendations, and transcripts and the experience to predict matriculation matches.
An understanding of the local market and educational trends.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A demonstrated commitment to superior customer service.
Experience working with diverse populations.
Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
Integrity, professionalism, high ethical standards, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
The ability to work independently and to set priorities to achieve objectives.
Upper School teaching, advising, and/or coaching experience is also desired.
Support prospective families through the admissions process from initial inquiry through matriculation.
Effectively and accurately communicate the admissions and financial aid processes to prospective families
Effectively communicate the school mission, curriculum and programs to internal and external audiences.
Interview and assess candidates and make recommendations for admission.
Work with the enrollment team to manage the family ambassador program, including recruiting, selecting, and training parent and student ambassadors.
Support the International student program: student recruitment, host family identification and support, SEVIS compliance.
Work with the Director of Enrollment and Director of Marketing to identify needs and to develop the content for both print and digital marketing communications to advance the school.
Oversee and manage various recruitment and admission programs, including campus visits, open houses, shadow visits, parent conferences, assessment days, and new family orientation events.
Track, analyze and interpret enrollment and admissions data and make recommendations as needed.
Work with the Financial Aid Committee to oversee the administration of need-based financial aid, and merit scholarships.
Work with school leadership and division heads to ensure retention of current students.
Identify and connect with key community stakeholders (e.g., educational leaders, corporate recruiters, realtors) to promote the school.
Work closely with External Relations Team to develop and align messaging and to identify and communicate shared opportunities and interests.
Provide support for reenrollment.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Enrollment Management (i.e. student advising, coaching).
