Within the School of Dentistry (SOD), the Associate Dean for Research will be charged with leading and overseeing the ongoing development of the SOD's extensive research portfolio, including identifying new areas of research, mentoring early-career and mid-career faculty, and pursuing research funding opportunities. The Associate Dean for Research needs to be a visionary who is able to drive an innovative and collaborative research enterprise of the SOD, and serve as the administrative leader of the Office of Research Administration. The Office of Research Administration provides services related to grant & contract submissions, post-award grants management, human subjects research guidance, and general oversight of research facilities within the SOD. The Associate Dean for Research works with the School's leadership to facilitate and sustain an optimal research and research training environment whereby the SOD's faculty, students, research fellows and visiting scholars generate new knowledge in the basic, applied and clinical sciences, as well as in the areas of health services, health policy, and health education and research. The Associate Dean for Research must recognize and promote the value of team science, and embrace an entrepreneurial mindset in all aspects of the role.
Education and Experience:
Tenure or record to support tenure. Outstanding record of research accomplishment, student and faculty mentoring. Excellent verbal and communication skills and evidence of leadership.
