Under the supervision of the Lower School Principal, the Early Childhood Assistant Teacher will support the planning and operations of the Early Childhood Program for the students in their first year (age 3) including communication with parents and using a developmentally appropriate, 21st century skills-based curriculum.
A successful candidate will support the school’s behavior management system and plan for the social-emotional growth of the students. He/she will act as a partner with the other Early Childhood teachers and parents to promote and develop the social, academic and emotional development of the young children.
In addition, the assistant teacher will:
Enhance and further develop a multicultural curriculum
Support daily instruction
Support the development of student goals
Collaborate with the lower school faculty and principal to ensure consistent and quality services are provided to all
Participate in the Early Childhood teachers meetings
Be aware of current Early Childhood research through professional periodicals, professional development and participation in conferences.
A successful candidate will have a BA degree with an emphasis in Early Childhood development or Early Childhood education. Excellent oral and written communication skills. A demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative member on a team.
