General Summary The Teacher’s Aide, under the supervision of the classroom teacher or division head, performs the necessary duties to assist in the planning and implementation of a program for the regular and special needs of children in the classroom. This person must be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with Rosarian Academy’s educational mission, vision and values.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Assist in the implementation of the daily program under the direction of the classroom teacher or Division Head. 2. Conduct instructional activities assigned by the classroom teacher, work with individual students or small groups for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing learning concepts and assisting students in reaching their academic goals and grade-level standards. 3. Implement, under the supervision of the classroom teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of assisting the teacher in improving students’ academic success through a defined course of study. 4. Help supervise students, inside and outside the classroom. 5. Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom. 6. Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials. 7. Assist with the administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments. 8. Assist teacher with administrative records and preparation of required reports. 9. Help with inventory, care and maintenance of equipment. 10. Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers. 11. Function as an appropriate role model for children, providing examples, emotional support, and a friendly attitude and general guidance. 12. Demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality. 13. Adhere to the appropriate code of ethics and confidentiality about children, their families and other employees. 14. Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution. 15. Education: Two years of college or equivalent and in the process of becoming professionally prepared to supervise young children Successful completion of Level 1 and 2 Background Screenings and VIRTUS Training CPR Training
