Under the supervision of the Director of the Child Care Center, the Teacher is responsible for the supervision and educational experiences of children between the ages of two-and-a-half and five years old. The Teacher plans and implements a program of developmentally appropriate experiences for children, demonstrating best early childhood practices; supervises assistants and student teachers; communicates with parents and families; attends professional development conferences, conventions or workshops aligned with the Center’s philosophy by completing the yearly required staff development hours; and performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications: Possession of a valid New Jersey Teacher's Certificate for Preschool through Grade 3 (Standard or Provisional) or Permanent Endorsement, issued by the Board of Examiners of the New Jersey Department of Education is required. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and three years of experience teaching preschool through grade 3 is preferred.
