This position carries out event coordination duties of the Voinovich School for; annual conferences and programs; guest lectures: ongoing project-based webinars, workshops and meetings; and collaborates on events with other University colleges/departments and external entities as appropriate. Works with a variety of School leadership and project team leaders, dependent upon the event and source of funding for the event. Oversees the daily event coordination activities of the School and also plans and directs the work of student office help as applicable. Interfaces with a variety of internal and external stakeholders in execution of job duties.
Duties include: develop event theme, set objectives, goals and milestones in collaboration with program leaders for event(s); identify panelists/presenters and facilitators for conferences, events and webinars; conduct follow up as needed; develop and carry out public relations activities; execute all logistics for events; collect and verify financial and events attendance and other applicable data; and network, collaborate, and interface with internal and external stakeholders as appropriate to carry out events. Ability to interface with dignitaries and customers/partners at all hierarchical levels and ability to work in teams are needed. Excellent communication and project management skills are required in order to work effectively with clients external to the University, often times at a high level, we well as partners within the University and Voinovich School.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in any field AND at least six (6) years of work experience AND at least one (1) year of management experience is also required.
Applicants must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel and work nights and weekends as needed to fulfill job duties.
All of the above and certification in Professional Project Management, Certified Event Planning or related certification.
Familiarity with accounting basics and history of responsibly administering budgets a plus.
