The College of Dental Medicine seeks a Clinical Director of Dental Practice to work with the Dean, school leadership and practice faculty to successfully develop and implement a series of strategic improvement initiatives for the practice, oversee and manage key clinical, administrative and business development activities across practice locations, and lead the practice to further success in clinical prominence, patient satisfaction, and financial performance. The Clinical Director of Dental Practice will report to the Dean.
The Clinical Director of Dental Practice will serve as:
Chief Quality Assurance Officer for ColumbiaDoctors: Dentistry. As such, he/she will establish a QA Committee along with the policies and procedures that define the responsibilities of the QA committee and any corrective action or reporting that is required. In this capacity will be responsible for putting in place both systematic checks to monitor clinical quality in patient care, as well as conducting individual reviews of providers as needed through chart audits and random checking of treatment plans. Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for and authorized to lead clinical operations across all practice locations. Is responsible for ensuring that patients have access to providers in a timely manner; that coverage is appropriate; will ultimately determine provider schedules, in consultation with faculty, Section Chairs and the Dean.
Director of Practice Development which includes activities such as review and potential revision to the incentive compensation model for providers; establishment of a dedicated fund for investment in equipment and a decision process for making those investments; decision-making process for any expansion to new locations; investments in marketing strategies; other investments in improvement of patient experience; review of laboratories, call centers and other service providers to the practice locations to determine value and any revised decisions or strategy.
Member of CDM Leadership Team and as an administrative leader, will be responsible for ensuring that key administrative functions—e.g. posting/hiring/onboarding of providers, revenue cycle and budget, credentialing, accreditation activities—are occurring as expected and notifying and working with CDM staff to resolve if they are not.
