Provide administrative support and supervision for daily operations and projects related to all Parks Maintenance, Cemeteries, and Outdoor Athletic activities.
Manage mowing crews.
Manage athletic field maintenance crews.
Manage pool operations and spraygrounds.
Check for problems in parks, sports fields, and cemeteries and correct as necessary.
Keep time and records of employees using Executime.
Develop and manage mowing schedules and mowing contractor.
Must have working knowledge of Main Trac software in order to process work orders.
Interact with athletic league officials and park patrons.
Order necessary supplies and materials for park maintenance operations.
Process invoices and purchase orders using HTE.
Monitor expenditures to ensure budget compliance.
Must be able to manage people.
Must have knowledge on how to prepare sports fields including softball, baseball, and soccer fields.
Must have working knowledge of Main Trac.
Must be able to sit and stand 3-hours daily; walk 2-hours daily; bend, stoop, and balance 1-hour daily; twist, turn, climb, and crouch 30-minutes daily; lift and carry up to 80-lbs. 1-hour daily; push and pull up to 80-lbs. 30-minutes daily.
Other working conditions include extreme cold, extreme heat, temperature changes, humidity, some heights, vibration, dryness, wetness, mists, dust, chemicals, allergens, detergents, mechanical hazards, and moving objects.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: Must have an Associate’s Degree plus a minimum of five (5) years of experience in maintenance and management. Must have a valid Texas Class “C” Driver’s License with a clear driving record. TDA Pesticide Applicators License preferred. Certified Pool Operator License preferred.

The City of Tyler will accept two years of relevant experience in place of each year of college required in the job description. Four years of relevant experience will be considered in place of an Associate’s Degree, and eight years of relevant experience will be considered in place of a Bachelor’s Degree. Any experience required in the Minimum qualifications is in addition to years of experience substituted for a degree.
