Charlotte Latin School is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Spanish teacher to join our Upper School faculty for a full-time, 10-month position beginning in August 2019. This position is ideal for motivated teachers who enjoy working closely with adolescents in a rigorous academic setting. Responsibilities may also include advising, coaching, or sponsoring other extracurricular activities.
Education and Experience
Particular consideration will be given to applicants who are willing and able to teach across a variety of levels of Spanish classes. Desirable candidates will display impeccable second language skills in both speaking and writing, collegiality and willingness to collaborate with colleagues, as well as philosophical alignment with our core values, mission, and curriculum.
A Bachelor’s degree in Spanish is required, with strong interest for candidates at the Master’s level.
Experience teaching Spanish is required.
Experience teaching a wide variety of levels, including Honors and/or AP courses, is preferred.
Experience teaching in an independent school is preferred.

Engage students in acquiring the ability to clearly and correctly communicate in all modes of communication in Spanish.
Utilize technology to support instruction and assessment when appropriate.
Possess strong classroom management and organizational skills.
