Calvert School, an independent lower and middle school, is searching for a full-time Science Teacher for its Middle School for the 2019-20 school year. Calvert School is located in Tuscany-Canterbury, a residential neighborhood in Baltimore City, just north of Johns Hopkins University and south of Loyola University Maryland, accessible from Charles Street and I-83.
We are seeking qualified candidates who will be responsible for teaching Fifth Grade Science – Introduction to Experimental Methods, and also Sixth Grade Earth Science. A background in physics and chemistry also is desired. The teacher will also be responsible for managing the daily affairs of a classroom including parent communications, teacher collaborations, and other school based duties and responsibilities. Teachers are expected to contribute to the Calvert community as coaches, club advisors, and serve on school committees on occasion.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with prior experience teaching middle school aged students. Candidates must have excellent writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
