Saint James School is looking for a full-time math teacher for the 2019-20 school year. The ideal candidate will have an enthusiasm for teaching a variety of mathematics courses, and teaching at the AP Calculus level is necessary. We are looking for a teacher who embraces a residential school, and this particular position requires living in an apartment attached to a girls’ dormitory. Faculty at Saint James also participate in afternoon activities, which includes (but is not limited to) coaching. Ultimately, the successful candidate will want to be part of the busy and rewarding life that makes up a boarding school community.
Living in a girls’ dormitory
Serving as an advisor to 5-7 students
Supervising the dormitory one night per week and ten weekends per year
Leading or assisting an afternoon activity/sport for two of three seasons
Attending all meetings as required
Attending all school functions as required: daily chapel, class meetings, special events, etc.
Completing teacher comments and advisor comments
Seeking out opportunities for professional development
Other duties as assigned
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
