The Walker School is a nonsectarian, co-educational independent day school serving three year olds through twelfth grade in Marietta, Georgia. The school was founded in 1957 and currently enrolls approximately 900 students. Walker seeks an energetic and dedicated individual for an Upper School Mathematics position beginning with the 2019-2020 school year. The ideal candidate will be capable of teaching AP Statistics along with multiple levels of Upper School Mathematics that may include Algebra, Geometry, and/or Precalculus. The teaching load is five sections with no more than three preparations along with grade level advising. Total student contact will be between 70 and 100.
Preference will be given to candidates interested in contributing to the full life of the school through coaching at the Upper School or Middle School level or sponsoring the Student Activities Union.
Classroom teaching experience is required, and a Master’s degree or advanced course work is preferred. Salary is based on degrees earned and years of experience and is commensurate with other independent schools in the area.
