Berwick Academy, a PK-12 coeducational day school located in Southern Maine seeks an English teacher to join our Upper School Faculty. Ideal candidates would have experience teaching high school students with an emphasis on developing critical thinking and writing skills. As a member of the Upper School Faculty, candidates can expect to teach four classes, serve as an advisor and coach two seasons of sports, or equivalent afternoon responsibilities. A qualified candidate will show strong evidence of exceptional teaching and a keen understanding of the developmental needs of high school students. A collaborative teaching approach and instructional leadership skills among peers are also hallmarks of a successful candidate. While strong classroom teaching is the most important qualification for this position, candidates with coaching experience in basketball, swimming, crew, or volleyball would also be of particular interest.
