Chelsea School is seeking a full-time, highly-qualified Middle Division Language Arts teacher for the second semester of the 2018-19 school year. Chelsea School specializes in educating college-bound students with language-based learning disabilities.
Ideal Candidates will meet the following criteria:
Familiarity with a variety of multi-sensory, systematic, structured instructional programs and practices for students with learning disabilities.
Experience assessing student progress toward achievement of benchmarks goals and objectives.
Ability to prepare students for state-mandated testing.
Ability to instruct on the writing process, mechanics, grammar, and assess student writing and progress.
Competence in writing IEP goals and objectives in the areas of written expression and mechanics.
Excellent communication and organization skills.
Valid Maryland state education licensure (or equivalent out-of-state licensure) in Special Education and Language Arts. (Or be certifiable).
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or English. Master’s Degree preferred.
