The Wardlaw+Hartridge School in Edison, NJ seeks an experienced ESL/ELL teacher for the current school year to support our international student population with their studies in all classes. The primary emphasis is in grades 9-12, but we have international students in all three divisions. International students are expected to enroll in traditional English-speaking courses from the beginning of their studies at W+H, in addition to enrolling in an ELL course for additional support in their academic studies. This position requires consultation with division heads, director of the international student program, and classroom teachers to keep abreast of topics being covered across the curricula and providing support for students in the form of Writing Lab. It is expected that the ELL Support teacher will collaborate with students on their written assignments in addition to scaffolding the reading assignments given in class (where appropriate). In addition, the ESL/ELL support faculty member will be the lead teacher in a six-week summer program for international students new to the United States. This person will assist in other duties as necessary to support the School’s international student community. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s in ESL/TEFL/TESOL and at least three years teaching experience.
