Greenwich Academy seeks one full time or two part time teachers to teach music and drama in our Middle School. For music, the role will include teaching sixth and seventh grade music and may include eighth grade musical theater. The successful candidate will have an extensive background in leading choral groups, teaching Middle School aged children and selecting and arranging music for students of this age. S/he will have extensive knowledge of vocal technique and will be a strong pianist and skilled accompanist.
For drama, the role will include teaching fifth grade drama classes and directing productions for fifth and sixth grade students. The drama teacher will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the productions s/he directs. Directing experience with Middle School aged students is preferred, and the successful candidate will demonstrate a strong working knowledge of theater appropriate for students this age.
The role(s) offer the opportunity to collaborate with an outstanding performing arts faculty, including a full-time costume designer and technical director. Candidates should be enthusiastic learners and dedicated to thoughtful, ongoing diversity work. A passion for teaching and advising Middle Schoolers is essential.
