SVDP is committed to educating the whole child through experiential activities that inspire creativity and innovation. The middle school team works together to create experiences that are cross-curricular and challenges students to think globally and problem solve locally through the lens of social justice.
Individuals applying for this position must be creative and innovative in their teaching practice. Applicants must have knowledge of up-to-date teaching methodologies and strategies with a deep understanding of 21st century learning skills and how to grow students socially and emotionally.
Teaching responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Knowledgeable with the 7th and 8th grade California math curriculum and the NG Science Standards Manage homeroom responsibilities and administrative duties for a classroom
Responsible for lesson planning, instruction, and assessment
Supervise students throughout the school day
Integrate and conduct small group and individual student instruction during the school day
Other tasks assigned by school leadership
Individuals applying for these positions must be able to support and promote the Catholic identity of the school. The person must be experienced at planning and implementing curriculum, be skillful at appropriately integrating technology into lessons, and have an understanding of differentiated classrooms.
Key qualities of a St. Vincent de Paul teacher include: a positive attitude, deep interest in learning new skills related to teaching, and a desire to collaborate with others.
Applicants must have a BA and a teaching credential; a masters degree is preferred.
