A unique opportunity for a qualified Abdominal Transplant Program Director is presented by Transplant Management Group on behalf of the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin in partnership with Seton Healthcare Family, a part of Ascension. Dell Medical School is seeking a visionary and dynamic surgical leader for its new abdominal transplant program at Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas. This represents an exciting opportunity in a rapidly growing market for which the partnership has committed significant resources to build a regionally and nationally recognized transplant center.
In collaboration with hospital and medical school leadership, this faculty position will lead the creation and start-up of an abdominal transplant program. Beginning with an adult kidney transplant program, the partnership envisions a stepwise approach to implementation of a multi-organ transplant center in subsequent years.
This position will report to the Chief Medical Officer of Dell Seton for clinical duties, to the President of Dell Seton for administrative duties, and to the Chair of Surgery and Perioperative Care for academic duties.
Board certified or eligible by American Board of Surgery in General Surgery (or equivalent)
Completion of an ASTS accredited fellowship or equivalent training in Transplant Surgery
5 years of post-fellowship experience with abdominal transplantation in a leadership role
Qualify as Kidney Primary Transplant Surgeon under UNOS Bylaws
Qualify for unrestricted medical licensure in Texas and Medical staff membership at DSMC
Eligible for appointment as an Associate Professor or above at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School
