Full-Time Math Teacher 2019-2020
Marin Academy seeks an experienced mathematics teacher for a full-time position beginning in August of 2019. The MA mathematics department values a student-centered, inquiry-based approach to teaching that balances content mastery with an emphasis on skill development.
Successful candidates will have the ability to teach across levels (Algebra 1 through Calculus), a degree in mathematics or a related field, and a desire to work collaboratively with other members of the department on course teams. Marin Academy has a block schedule in which classes meet every other day for 75-minute periods. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching at the middle or high school level and comfort with progressive pedagogical approaches.
MA is in the early years of an ambitious strategic plan which emphasizes interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary teaching and learning, competency-based assessment, equity and inclusion. Candidates eager to work toward these strategic goals will be prioritized in our search progress. Furthermore, we welcome candidates who are eager to grow in their professional lives and who demonstrate a willingness and an ability to engage in reflection on their practice.
