As a faculty member, all teachers lead as positive educators and role models for the School community of students, parents, alumni, trustees and colleagues. Faculty member’s general duties involve teaching 4 classes, coaching two sports or the equivalent, advising students, leading an activity, serving on a committee, providing extra help to students and attending school events and school year faculty orientation. The typical student load is 55-65 students.
Summary of the Humanities Position:
The candidate must be able to teach a range of introductory level (9th & 10th grade) English and History classes; possess an interest in humanities instruction, have positive interpersonal skills, enjoy working with high school students, and have the energy and interest to contribute to the school community in a variety of areas.
Qualified candidates should have:
success teaching middle school or high school Humanities, English, History or related roles
enthusiasm for humanities and the flexibility to teach the skills and content associated with introductory courses in History and English
interest in working with colleagues to develop curriculum and program
comfort with the use of technology in the classroom
a growth mindset that allows them to take on new challenges
A degree in Humanties, English, History, or related field
