Strong Interpersonal Skills: The Superintendent needs to demonstrate honesty, integrity, and compassion. An ability to establish trust and affirming the existing positive relationships among employee groups is vital. Strong listening skills are essential.
Strong Communication Skills: The Superintendent is expected to represent the district in a constructive and positive manner at district and community meetings. Communication with the Board is expected to be clear, comprehensive and timely.
Understanding of the Community: The Superintendent needs to be visible in the schools and community and be able to create positive working relationships with the community and be recognized as the foremost advocate for the needs of the students.
Strong Vision for Student Success:The ability to present a compelling vision for student learning and achievement is important. The person should promote skills for the future which enable students to be successful in a rapidly changing global society.
Master’s degree in Educational Administration or equivalent
Valid California Administrative Services Credential required
Strong instructional background and experience at all levels
Understanding of a facilities bond measure
About Paso Robles Joint Unified School District
PRJUSD has an enrollment of 6,900 students in 11 school sites which includes six elementary schools, two middle schools, one comprehensive high school, and two alternative education high schools.
