Latin Teacher
The Bishop's School
The Bishop’s School seeks a full-time Latin teacher beginning in August 2019. The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach a range of courses in the Latin curriculum, and will also have the ability to teach another world language, or courses in other departments. The goals of the classical languages program are to develop in students the ability to read and appreciate significant works of Greek and Latin prose and poetry in the original languages. The department seeks candidates who are excited to teach in a student-centered, discussion-based setting, and should have experience and interest in teaching methods ranging from communicative and humanistic to analytical and philological. In addition to teaching, faculty responsibilities include serving as an advisor to students.

A bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in classical studies or a related field is required and an M.A. is preferred; a minimum of three years teaching experience is expected, preferably in an independent school.
