The Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville, MD is seeking candidates to fill the position of Long Term Substitute Middle School Science Teacher. The position will begin in early-mid April 2019 and last for 6-8 weeks.
The ideal candidate will excel in teaching Middle School science and will have at least three years of experience in teaching middle school students life science and inquiry based physical science (including principles of physics and chemistry). The ideal candidate has strong classroom management skills, experience in project-based learning, is creative and collaborative and has demonstrated success at and enjoys working as an active member of a team.
The candidate must possess a BA or a BS in an appropriate subject area. An MS degree in the subject area and/or an MA in education is preferred but not required. Experience in differentiated instruction and working with students with diverse learning needs preferred.
