Western Kentucky University Child Care Centers (WKUCCC) is seeking applicants for a part-time Classroom Teacher Aide. This is a grant funded position and continued employment is subject to availability of funds. WKUCCC provide federally and privately funded child care for children ages 0 to 5 years of age and has centers on WKU campus and at the Bryant Way facility of BG Housing Authority. Center hours are 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Responsibilities: Part-time teacher aides are responsible for assisting Classroom Teachers with activities and child supervision. Activities may involve small or large groups, or individual interaction. General day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with meals, toileting, rest time, outside play, field trips, and other learning center activities.
High school diploma
Previous work experience with children age 0-5 years old.
Must have physical capability to lift up to 40 pounds
Conditions of Employment:
Must enroll in CDA program and complete credential requirements within one year of hiring.
Must enroll in Early Childhood Education program and obtain ECE AA degree within 4 years of hiring.
A criminal background check along with a copy of a TB skin test is required prior to entrance into the classroom.
A copy of a general health/physical is required within thirty (30) days of employment.
Expected Salary Range: $8.00 - $11.00 per hour Rate determined by qualifications and experience. Schedule: approximately 25 to 29 hours per week
