We are hiring a full time Special Education Teacher to join our organization. As a non-public special education school approved by the Illinois State Board of Education. We provide school-based services to children (ages 3-21.11) diagnosed with autism spectrum and related disorders such as emotional / behavioral disorders, developmental disabilities and other health impairments. We believe every student should be given the opportunity to reach his or her full potential.
As a member of our school family your duties will consist of:
Supervise classroom consisting of up to eight students and up to four paraprofessional staff members;
Create lesson plans and schedules for assigned classroom group times a week at a time;
Develop and attend all assigned student IEP meetings;
Collect data on student programs and behavior plans;
Provide training and supervision to classroom staff to levels of competency;
Design and provide whole and small group instruction to all students within classroom daily; provide 1:1 instruction to students as needed;
Maintain regular communication with parent(s) on students’ progress;
Conduct weekly afterschool meetings in assigned classroom, three times per month;
Attend recommended ongoing trainings and workshops to develop relevant knowledge and skills;
Perform other activities/duties as assigned by school administrators; and
Must adhere to school rules and regulations and follow department policies and procedures.
Must be able to bend and kneel.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
We are seeking:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education.
Valid teaching certificate in Illinois ages K-12 with LBS1 endorsement or enrolled in LBS1 endorsement program.
Experience in educating children with autism or related disorders preferred.
Private School work experience preferred.
Experience in Applied Behavior Analysis and/or Verbal Behavior preferred.

Winston Knolls Education Group’s educational facility, The Winston Knolls School at Hoffman Estates Campus is a non-public special education Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade high school approved by the Illinois State Board of Education.
