Annie Wright is seeking a Physics Teacher & Dorm Parent in the Upper School for Girls to begin on August 19, 2019. This is a full time position.

Position Overview: duties & responsibilities
The Upper School for Girls Physics Teacher and Dorm Parent:
teaches Science courses in alignment with the mission and philosophy of Annie Wright Schools and with the International Baccalaureate framework, including IB Physics, Grade 9 Physics, and a science elective based on the teacher’s expertise and programmatic needs;
works closely with colleagues to develop the Science program in the Upper School for Girls and to align it with other divisions, as well as to implement the curriculum with best practices in teaching, student-centered instruction, and relevant educational technologies;
and fulfills all faculty duties, especially good communication with families about student progress.
As a Dorm Parent, s/he:
resides on campus in apartments provided by the school (apartment sizes vary and are assigned according to individuals’ roles and family needs) and works closely and cooperatively with residential faculty, students, and other school staff; attends all staff meetings and participates in all trainings and orientations for faculty and staff at the beginning and end of the academic year; and fulfills all administrative tasks and other duties as assigned;
and is on duty for designated shifts and additional school events and dorm activities beyond the normal duty hours.
The Upper School Physics Teacher and Dorm Parent:
holds a BA in Physics, science education, or a related field;
has experience teaching high school Physics at multiple levels and is familiar with the International Baccalaureate framework;
demonstrates an ability to form authentic relationships with high school students, excellent communication and organizational skills, reliability, and proficiency in educational technologies;
and is eligible to work in the United States.
