A day in the life:
Plan and deliver targeted language arts instruction for two classes of six to eight students with learning differences and disabilities
Communicate with colleagues and parents to provide an exceptional experience for all families
Engage in the continuous pursuit of lifelong personal and professional development and reflection
Observe, analyze, and pivot based on the needs of kids
Provide support to kids in the form of social coaching
Have fun teaching and learning
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or higher required with teacher certification preferred
Content area experience required
Experience working with diverse learners
Knowledge of learning differences and the ability to differentiate instruction in the classroom based on those needs
Strong ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form
Analytical approach to curriculum, instructional methods, and students
Flexibility as it relates to classroom management, pacing of curriculum, and student expectations
Compassion for students, parents, and colleagues
