Humanities Teacher
The Academy at Penguin Hall
The Academy at Penguin Hall, a college preparatory school for young women in grades 9-12, seeks a creative, dynamic, Humanities Teacher with broad experience in teaching both English and History, preferably in an independent school setting. The ideal candidate sees the benefit of a holistic student-centered approach to education and is able to provide a rich, differentiated learning environment for students that promotes creative problem-solving and thinking skills. A candidate passionate about teaching issues of equity and inclusion through the study of both Western and non-Western cultures is highly desirable. Full-time faculty members at The Academy teach five classes and serve as faculty advisors and club and activity sponsor outside of the classroom. Candidates with independent school experience, a commitment to staying up to date on current pedagogical practices within their discipline, and a desire to create a interdisciplinary curriculum are strongly encouraged to apply.
