Teaching Responsibilities: At The Benjamin School, we believe that good teachers set high standards for their students and then do everything they can to help them achieve those standards. We are looking for teachers who will help our students (in and out of the classroom) become self-directed, independent learners with superior academic collegiate skills. The ideal candidate will be able to incorporate several styles of teaching and use varied approaches to the students and material. This person must have a desire to work with students in a challenging, college-preparatory environment and should possess strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Qualified candidates should demonstrate a passion for mathematics, intellectual curiosity, strong communication skills, the ability to work within a team, skills to engage and inspire students in the pursuit of learning, a commitment to ongoing professional development, an understanding of the ebbs and flows of independent school life, and, last but not least, a sense of humor. The person filling this position will need to teach some sections of advanced mathematics, including Honors Precalculus, the specifics of which will depend on the individual talents that the candidate brings to Benjamin.
