St. Johns Country Day School, an independent college preparatory school, is seeking an experienced academic leader to fill the role of Upper School Chemistry Teacher, capable of teaching at the introductory, honors, and AP levels. The ideal candidate will be an expert in both the field of chemistry and the craft of teaching and will be fully capable of taking the lead role with respect to the Upper School chemistry program.
The position requires an advanced degree in science, chemistry, or related field, with a minimum of three years teaching experience at the Upper school level. Master’s degree desired. Other qualifications include:
Proficiency in educational technology and twenty-first-century pedagogy
Experience designing and implementing a 21st Century science curriculum
Possess a growth mindset
Skills to effectively collaborate with teachers
Duties and Responsibilities

Design and conduct laboratory activities
Possess strong communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues
Contribute to the broader community by participating in the life of the school outside the classroom.
Additional Salary Information: The position is for the academic year starting in August 2019. A salary commensurate with experience, degree attainment, and qualifications is paid to employees annually.
